Coming Soon: How My Cat Saved Me From Multi-Level-Misery

Adopting Barsik was the first step in breaking free from MLM, even though I didn’t realize it then. In DreamSuckers (name changed to protect me), we were discouraged from using social media and warned that it was a “comparison trap,” but I found it exciting. I discovered Barsik through Instagram, and when his foster mom handed me his account, it became my first taste of a world outside of MLM.

That slight shift led me to take social media classes at NYU, start experimenting with branding, and eventually sell merch. I was finally being noticed for something I built, not just for following a recruiting script. That realization made it impossible to ignore the possibilities beyond MLM. Barsik was the first domino, and once it fell, the rest followed—leading me to where I am today, helping others escape limiting beliefs and build their own brands.

If you didn’t know, I’m “Meowmy” to Big Barsik, once known as New York’s fattest cat. Although he’s still a big boy now at 18 lbs, his highest weight before I adopted him was 41 lbs (Read the whole story here.) Since his adoption, Barsik and I have a very special story of our own and it has been one of the great joys of my life to see this sweet big boy thrive.
